Sometimes we don’t know
Who we are
Or what we want
Or where we’re going
Or how to get there
And if we get there
We don’t know where to go
Or what to do
Or how to do it
Don’t leave a trail of breadcrumbs
Or try to get blood from a stone
Instead, blaze a trail
From your pen or pencil
To help you find your way home.
Nah.
You wield your pen like a samurai wields his wakizashi during seppuku.
Let your own spilling innards lead you home.
